Transitions - Safe Passage Book Review

Our resource list has many books that cover the broad topic of international education. One book is different in that it focuses on the significant effects of transitions and how best to make them.

The book is Safe Passage: How Mobility Affects People & What International Schools Should Do About It. The author, Doug Ota, is a noted leader and presenter in transitions, especially in helping schools design orientation and transition programs.

When we move to our next school and location, we experience loss and change, along with multiple emotions that arise from this process. Families and individuals need to have the tools to handle this process. The Safe Passage book explains what we are going through while offering strategies to make connections and build community in our new location.
